Initial situation

The station building and annex date back to the construction of the Brünig Railway in 1888. Zentralbahn will renovate and modernize both buildings over the coming months in order to maintain the infrastructure in the long term.

At the same time, the range of services offered at the travel center will be expanded. In addition to the services offered by Zentralbahn, the ground floor of the station building will now also house the services of Swiss Post, BLS Schifffahrt, and Brienz Rothorn Bahn.

Objective of the construction project

Restrictions and inconveniences

Zentralbahn is committed to ensuring smooth operations for all passengers. However, due to the construction work, restrictions and inconveniences are unavoidable.

Access

To ensure smooth operations, the platform facilities will remain in use throughout the construction period and will be clearly signposted. The aim is to minimize the impact on local residents and passengers and to limit the duration of the disruption.

The travel center and restroom facilities will not be accessible during the main construction work and will be relocated to temporary facilities during this time.

Immissions/construction noise

Construction work will take place Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. During this time, some noisy work will be unavoidable. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Rail traffic disruption

There will be no restrictions on rail traffic. Access to the platform area will be restricted in some areas.
