Night works Dallenwil–Engelberg

The line between Stansstad and Engelberg will be completely closed in autumn for maintenance work and the construction of a double-track section. Prior to this, preliminary works will take place over 15 nights. From 17 August to 4 September 2026, IR LEX trains from 9:30 p.m. onwards will be cancelled between Wolfenschiessen and Engelberg.

For the duration of the line closures, replacement buses will operate between Dallenwil and Engelberg. Please allow additional travel time. To ensure connections, some departure times and departure points will be adjusted.

Replacement buses from 17 August to 4 September 2026

The following trains will be cancelled to/from Wolfenschiessen:

  • IR LEX 2988, 9:10 p.m.: Cancelled between Wolfenschiessen and Engelberg. A replacement bus (EV) will operate from Dallenwil.
  • IR LEX 2991, 10:02 p.m.: Cancelled between Engelberg and Wolfenschiessen. A replacement bus (EV) will operate to Dallenwil.
  • IR LEX 2990, 10:10 p.m.: Cancelled between Wolfenschiessen and Engelberg. A replacement bus (EV) will operate from Dallenwil.
  • IR LEX 2993, 11:02 p.m.: Cancelled between Engelberg and Wolfenschiessen. A replacement bus (EV) will operate to Dallenwil.

Passengers travelling to / from Engelberg: Please change in Dallenwil, not in Wolfenschiessen.

Bicycle transport

Bicycles are not permitted on Zentralbahn rail replacement buses. Due to limited space, passengers with prams, wheelchairs or reduced mobility have priority.

Passengers with reduced mobility

At least one wheelchair-accessible bus is scheduled for every departure. Please always check the online timetable, especially with regard to accessibility, as not all regional bus stops are accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. Passengers travelling in a wheelchair are advised to register in advance.
