Lucerne Hello Globi

You can’t miss the Globi coach. Globi is jumping for joy as he greets everyone, calling out: “All aboard, the adventure starts here!” In the coach, there are some great Globi books to have a look at. There’s also the Globi flyer, which you’ll need in order to solve puzzles on the way to Engelberg. 

Hergiswil Eyes open

Here’s how it works. There are six large images of Globi hidden on the route from Lucerne to Engelberg. Your job is to find them. There is also a letter on each of the images – when put together, the letters make up the solution word. So eyes open and watch carefully out the train window.   

Wolfenschiessen Light drizzle

Look! Is that Globi there or is it a deer with an umbrella? The Globi Express is also an ideal experience for bad weather. You can always spot Globi from the train, even in the rain, snow and storms. On we go, we’ll soon be in Engelberg. How many letters still to go? 

Engelberg Surprise!

The Globi Express terminus. Who found all the letters and solved the puzzle? There’s a nice surprise for the right solution. Simply fill in the slip on the Globi flyer and hand it in at the Engelberg Travel Centre (at Engelberg station). Please also show a valid ticket. 

Brunni On we go

The Globi Express ends at Engelberg station but the Globi adventure continues. The cable car takes everyone up to Brunni and Globi’s alpine playground. On the treasure hunt along the way to Härzlisee lake, your task is to find hidden Globi stories. Then it’s back to Lucerne on the Globi Express, telling each other stories about an eventful day.

Frequently asked questions

No. All you need to travel on the Globi Express is a valid ticket. All discounts, such as the Junior Travelcard, Children’s Co-Travelcard, GA Travelcard, Half Fare Travelcard etc. are valid. 

The Globi flyer, something to write with and a keen eye.

You will find the Globi flyer on the Globi Express and you can get it from the train crew and in all Zentralbahn Travel Centres. The Globi flyer is free of charge.

Well, of course, we’re not telling you that. It’s meant to stay exciting! The solution word is changed every spring, so even those who have already taken part can join in again. Please note: The solution word is in German.

But anyone who solves the Globi puzzle correctly gets a surprise at our Engelberg Travel Centre (directly at the station). Please show a valid ticket when picking it up.

The Globi coach is part of the Luzern–Engelberg Express. It runs hourly from 06:10 to 18:10 from Lucerne and returns from Engelberg every hour until 18:02.  
The Luzern–Engelberg Express then operates without the Globi coach. 

Note: The Globi coach may sometimes be out of operation due to maintenance of rolling stock. You can still solve the Globi puzzle. 

Globi Express operating with restrictions (07 September – 01 November 2026)

From 7 September to 18 October 2026, the line between Stansstad and Engelberg will be closed. The Globi Express will not operate during this period.
From 19 October to 1 November 2026, the line between Wolfenschiessen and Engelberg will be closed. The Globi coach will operate between Lucerne and Dallenwil.
