Initial situation
Due to ageing infrastructure, Zentralbahn is renewing parts of the railway infrastructure at Stansstad station. The rails on Track 4 and two turnouts will be replaced, and the track superstructure will also be renewed. The works will be carried out during night-time intervals from 28 October to 8 November 2024

- Replacement of the track superstructure (ballast and sleepers) on Track 4 and two turnouts

Restrictions and inconvenience
Zentralbahn makes every effort to ensure smooth operations for all passengers. However, due to the construction works, certain restrictions and inconvenience are unavoidable.
Impact on rail services
Track changes and replacement bus services
To carry out the construction project, Tracks 3 and 4 will be closed from Friday, 1 November 2024, from 10.00 p.m. until Monday, 4 November 2024, at 4.30 a.m. On 2 and 3 November, trains will operate via Tracks 1 and 2 between 4.30 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. After 10.00 p.m., trains will be replaced by buses between Hergiswil and Engelberg.
Night-time works and replacement bus services
Night-time works will be carried out on the following dates:
- Mon/Tue, 28/29 October 2024 to Thu/Fri, 31 October/1 November 2024, from 11.00 p.m. to 4.30 a.m.
- Fri/Sat, 1/2 November 2024 to Sun/Mon, 3/4 November 2024, from 10.00 p.m. to 4.55 a.m.
- Mon/Tue, 4/5 November 2024 to Thu/Fri, 7/8 November 2024, from 11.00 p.m. to 4.30 a.m.
During these periods, trains between Hergiswil and Engelberg will be replaced by buses.
Notice regarding Niederrickenbach Station
The replacement bus services are coordinated with the redevelopment of Niederrickenbach Station. Please note that, for safety reasons, Niederrickenbach Station will not be served by the replacement buses. Passengers travelling to or from Niederrickenbach Station are asked to use the nearby Dallenwil station instead. From Dallenwil station, the valley station of the Dallenwil–Niederrickenbach cable car can be reached on foot in around 8 minutes (approximately 700 metres).

Noise emissions
The construction works, which will take place from 28 October to 8 November 2024, will be carried out mainly during the night between 10.00 p.m. and 4.30 a.m. To avoid longer service interruptions, the works have to be carried out during night-time shifts. We thank you for your understanding.
