His workshop is located in Meiringen, where he lives. But the pianos don't come to him – he has to go to them. In his private life, Christian often commutes to Embrach, where his wife teaches guitar. Driving is hardly an option for him: “Cars mean traffic jams,” he says with a laugh. The Zentralbahn railway has long since taken on a special significance for him. One reason for this is that he now knows some of the train attendants personally. What’s more, Christian is so familiar with the Zentralbahn that he could distinguish its trains blindfolded by the sound of the locomotive: “Spatz, Fink, Adler – I can recognize them all.” For him, traveling on the Zentralbahn means coming home a little bit every time.

Thank you, Christian. We travel well with you.

The following content may not be accessible. The video is decorative and shows our ambassador Christian. Christian greets a train conductor at Brienz station. As he talks to the conductor, he suddenly hears the faint sound of a train. He pricks up his ears to try and hear what model of train it might be. He then tells the story in the bistro compartment that he once received a piano as a gift. He shows printed photos to illustrate this. There are some landscape shots from the journey to Meiringen station. Once there, he waves to Ambassador Mathias as he gets off the train. In the next clip, he walks in front of the camera to introduce himself briefly. The Zentralbahn and SBB logos are then displayed.
