Finalisation of Brienzwiler station.
Effects on rail services.
Construction and maintenance20.02.2026André Mérioz
From 30 March to 2 April and from 27 April to 30 April 2026, the underpass at Brienzwiler station will be closed due to the installation of mortar and hard concrete. Trains will only be able to operate on track 1. Delays are expected.
Delays due to a closed track
Brienzwiler station was completely rebuilt in 2025 to enable passengers with reduced mobility to board and alight independently. To complete the station works, the underpass must be closed for concrete works on eight days. As a result, trains can only operate on track 1. Since Brienzwiler is a crossing point, delays will occur in the direction of Meiringen. Train crossings will be shifted from Brienzwiler to Brienz.
Impact on rail traffic
On the R70 line, from 30 March to 2 April and from 27 April to 30 April 2026, trains travelling from Interlaken Ost to Meiringen will arrive in Meiringen around eight minutes later than usual.
Connections in Meiringen will be held.
Exception: R70 5:57 Interlaken Ost–Meiringen to R71 6:34 Meiringen–Innertkirchen. Passengers are asked to use the R71 6:56 Meiringen–Innertkirchen instead.
Thank you for your understanding.
