Lucerne Carnival Pass
The Passepartout fare network and Zentralbahn, together with their partners, are once again committed to ensuring a safe Carnival in 2026. Travel to Lucerne and back home by public transport – affordably, comfortably and safely.
From 12 to 18 February 2026, the Passepartout Carnival Pass allows you to travel freely around the clock during the Lucerne Fasnacht– in all validated zones of the fare network, including early morning services as well as special SGV connections. The family discount also applies.

Capacity of the special trains
Passengers travelling on the Stans–Hergiswil NW–Lucerne route are kindly asked to arrive at the stations early. If the arriving special train is already full, the following one or two special trains can be used instead. This helps distribute passengers more evenly across the three special services, provided they are utilised as evenly as possible.
Transport of carnival floats on Zentralbahn trains
In recent years, increasingly larger carnival floats have been transported on Zentralbahn services. This has blocked entrance areas and prevented passengers from boarding and alighting properly. For safety reasons, exits and passageways inside the train must remain clear at all times. Please note that no carnival floats larger than a baby stroller may be transported.
