Track layers at Zentralbahn carry out all kinds of work on and around our track systems. They alternate between day and night shifts and ensure that our tracks are in excellent condition. Their work ensures that we can meet our obligations to our customers and transport them safely and punctually across the Zentralbahn region every day.

Activities.
The main tasks of a track layer include maintenance of the track and track installations. Track layers also occasionally take on the role of safety supervisor on construction sites and operate, shunt and guide special track-laying machines and track-renewal trains. Our maintenance employees carry out their work in accordance with Zentralbahn’s quantity and quality requirements. We attach great importance to compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements.

In the track layer role, you have exciting opportunities for further training and development. These include further training as a rail vehicle driver, safety warden or safety manager. You can also complete further training in planning and control (AVOR/work preparation) or planning and train to become a supervisor with team management responsibilities.
