Experience breathtaking panoramic views and impressive floral displays along the Horizon Trail. The trail leads from the Alpen Tower on Hasliberg across Planplatten and the Balmeregghorn to the picturesque turquoise Tannensee, and further to the enchanting Engstlensee.
Directions.
Experience breathtaking panoramic views and impressive floral displays along the Horizon Trail. The hike begins with a picturesque gondola ride to the Alpen Tower on Hasliberg. From there, the trail leads across Planplatten and ascends the Balmeregghorn before reaching the turquoise Tannensee. The journey continues to the enchanting Engstlensee. For those with excess energy, there's the option to rent a rowboat and enjoy a leisurely ride on the tranquil mountain lake. Rowboats can be rented at the reception of the Engstlenalp Hotel.
After visiting Engstlenalp, the Engstlenalp Bus will conveniently take you back to Innertkirchen/Meiringen.
Important information.
Take the Zentralbahn to Brünig-Hasliberg and from there, take the postal bus to Hasliberg, Reuti. From there, you can reach the Alpen Tower by cable car.
From Engstlenalp, you can take the Engstlenalp bus back to Innertkirchen/Meiringen.
- Walkable from mid-June to the end of October.
- Purchase the round-trip ticket directly from the Meiringen-Hasliberg mountain railways.
