The Reichenbach Falls.
The site of Sherlock Holmes’ final battle.
This excursion is a must for all fans of Sherlock Holmes. At this historic location, the famous detective challenged his nemesis Professor Moriarty to the ultimate duel, and the fierce melee ended with a dramatic plummet into the depths – right into this impressive waterfall!
The bold engineers of 1899 were able to find their way by the sound of the thundering waters of the Reichenbach Falls as they laid the tracks for the goods railway. Today you can come face to face with this wild torrent and the impressive, 110-metre-high Reichenbach Falls as you climb the heights in the nostalgic train with faithfully reproduced 24-seat wooden coaches. There are three viewing terraces in the immediate vicinity of the mountain station, offering a breathtaking view of the waterfall and the picturesque Haslital.
